Who are we?
Women who during the day are students, managers, teachers, secretaries, nurses, or lawyers transform on Monday nights into musical divas…musicians sharpening their singing skills in preparation for performances, shows, and competitions. Sharing a love of music and singing four-part barbershop harmony, membership is rewarding as well as challenging. Family-oriented, fast-paced and refreshingly different entertainment, coordinating choreography and barbershop arrangements of many of your favorite songs is synonymous with TuneTown Show Chorus. Performances by this chorus have included Gaylord Opryland County Christmas, Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as local churches and civic groups.
Formed in 1998, TuneTown Show Chorus has received many awards and medals, but none as exciting as capturing First Place Overall at the Sweet Adelines International (SAI) regional chorus competition in March 2006 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This championship earned them the privilege to compete at the international SAI competition in Calgary, AB, Canada, in the Fall of 2007. There they will compete against 34 SAI winning choruses from around the world.
We are constantly striving for vocal improvement. Our exceptionally talented director Sherry Lewis brings a wealth of expertise to the chorus. Additionally, we utilize the talents of coaches from across the nation.
TuneTown invites all women singers to visit any Monday night rehearsal, from 6:45 - 9:45 p.m., at the Bellevue Center mall (upper level), Hwy. 70 South, Nashville. Auditions are held weekly. For membership information, call (615) 360-6375.
